I turn optics, chemistry, electronics, and software into one working product, then carry it to market.

R&D and product development leader with 15+ years building analytical and instrumentation platforms in life sciences, diagnostics, and materials.

What I do

Instruments and platforms

I build analytical instruments as one system: optics, consumable, electronics, software, and the assay that runs on them. At NanoMosaic I took Tessie, a photonic protein-quantitation instrument, from concept to beta in 18 months, then through FDA CBER Advanced Manufacturing Technology designation for AAV characterization. At Nirrin I led product development for Atlas, a scanning-laser NIR platform for bioprocess analytics.

Materials and surface chemistry

My base is materials chemistry: the polymers, surfactants, dyes, and surface treatments that make devices work. That runs from electrophoretic display materials at E Ink, to microfluidic antifouling surfaces and FRET dye systems at Bio-Rad, to Ulva-based bioplastics for carbon removal today.

Product strategy

I translate between the bench, the customer, and the board. That means requirements and roadmaps, early-access customer programs, technical diligence for investors and partners, and design controls that keep research, engineering, and manufacturing on one plan.

Advisory

For startups and investors: technical diligence on tools, diagnostics, and materials companies; restarting a stalled instrument or consumable program; scale-up and quality systems; materials formulation; and practical AI tooling for small R&D teams.
